Your post is pretty wrong.
I play WoW, I'm not a hardcore player, and I have a life. I go to school, I have many friends, I hang out with friends, I go to the movies, I visit family, I play sports, I watch tv, I play xbox, and other regular stuff. The one thing you are right about is that I do live in my moms basement, but that's because I'm 17.
You don't need to devote their life to WoW for them to play it. I know many people who play WoW, are level 80 and have good gear, and have a life. Yes, people do throw their life away for WoW, but don't forget they can do the exact same for GW.
Level 80 does not take 400 hours to get to, unless you spend your time grinding on mobs. Yes, getting max level and the best weapons/armor in a week is nice, but some people prefer taking time developing their character. The fact that WoW takes much longer to get max level and good gear isn't a bad thing, MMORPG's are supposed to be time killers. For people who want to pass time, WoW is going to last them a lot longer than GW will.

I'm surprised you took that troll bait, Arkantos.
In full disclosure, I canceled my WoW account a week ago. Why? I had the best gear possible outside of Naxx, and I maxed all 4 Northrend factions. (Despite that, I still topped DPS meters for PuG OS and VoA) Since I didn't raid, there wasn't much point for me to play, atleast until 3.1 anyways.
However, Left 4 Dead and TF2 are taking my time instead.

WoW can't kill GW because it doesn't need to.

WoW can't kill GW because GW is completely different in too many aspects. That's why Anet calls it a CORPG.
When you're comparing the two games you're not comparing green apples to red apples; you're comparing apples to, essentially, oranges. Yes they're both round, and yes, you can eat them, but that's where the similarities end. Same with GW and WoW. Yes you can play them both online, and yes they both have PvE and PvP, but that's about all they have in common. Level cap, monetary system, instances, even the communities are way different. Not to mention the huge difference between WoW PvP and GW PvP. Even the PvE for both games are wildly different.
I'm not sure what else needs to be discussed. The OP's article is a quick read that gives some decent logic. Not sure why this thread needed to go so far downhill.

Yea, WoW can't kill GW because it's near impossible to kill something that's already dead.

GW is already dead, WoW can't kill a dead game.
Whenever i read this post i can't stop laughing at all the losers on here who couldn't cut it in wow. Yes i called you losers because of the following reasons:
"It takes too much time to level in wow"
No it doesn't, with the latest changes to lvling, as well as the "invite a friend" offer you earn 300% XP till lvl 60, There it takes you exactly 2 days of casual play to hit 70 because of the changes to XP needed to lvl. They reduced the total XP needed to level from 60-70 by 30%. Therefore by the time you finish Hellfire, terrokar and nagrand you are 69. Yes you can skip Zangermarsh.
"OMG wow lvling is too boring"
So is GW PVE which so many of you seem to love. After you finish each compaign once its just a grind to get your alts through it again.
"Grinding for gear is boring"
And how is grinding for titles any less boring? In fact, mindlessly grinding your way to GWAMM is way more boring than anything wow has to offer because in GW now that you have heroes most of the time you play solo, compared to wow where at least you get to socialize with people. So much for playing an online game heh?
"In GW you get max weapons and armor as soon as you cap"
So what? its also a bad thing, once your character maxes out, and finishes a storyline you are pretty much done with the game, anything else you do involves "grind", which makes you quite the hypocrite.
The REAL reason people dont like WOW is that they suck too much to even get into a decent guild which can do anything past naxx 10 man. So yeah, if you are one of these kind of people, you are going to hate wow because guess what, the good players always feed on the bad players in any form of MMO eventually, so you would rather embrace the carebearish nature that GW has to offer. (Max everything handed to you). If you dont like wow because of the graphics i can understand that. If you dont like wow because you are more on PVP so you would rather join the more competitive aspect of GW...again i can understand somewhat.... but bitching and moaning that wow PVE is boring and all that crap is completely silly and makes you look like a hypocrite.

GW has been created as a game you play and then leave aside, and then come back to play. It's an online RPG/CORP/whatever-you-want-to-call-it-game that has no monthly fees and allows people to connect to each other to play. Whenever they want.
It never was alive, it's not dead, it's somewhere in-between, wherever you want it to be. For some individuals it is plain dead. For others it's more alive than ever. Difficult then to argue that it's either, or both.

Precisely...which is why GW PvP was supposed to be the next logical step since even in all its inbalanced mismanaged brokenness still makes WoW PvP look like trash.

Ugh. I can see where this is headed, so I'm closing it before someone has the terrible argument of "how can you kill that which has no life".
In summary for those who care;
WoW won't kill GW.
GW won't kill WoW.
Why? They aren't trying to. Different targets, different games. That is all.
